- Why get a toaster oven when I already have a range oven? Toaster ovens are a great appliance to have available, especially if you don't want to use your oven every time you want to just heat something up or make a small meal for just one or two people.
- Why not just use a microwave rather than a toaster oven? Well, a microwave can not put a crispy crust on a frozen pizza or brown various kinds of foods. Toaster ovens can bake, broil, and cook everything from hamburgers, hot dogs, and french fries, to a four pound chicken quickly and easily.
- What does a convection toaster oven do differently than a regular toaster oven? Convection heating uses a small fan to circulate the hot air around the food so that it browns evenly and speeds up cooking time. You no longer need to flip your food to get it brown on all sides.
- What size toaster oven do I need? Toaster ovens vary in size from as small as 10" x 10" to as large as 20" x 16". If you have limited space you should measure the space you intend to place the toaster oven to determine which size is best for you. Keep in mind that the smaller sizes will not have the capacity to roast chickens.
- Why does bread turn brown when you toast it? Because the bread is dried out and begins burning.
- How do I determine which type of toaster oven I need? Toaster ovens come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, range of capabilities, and prices. You need to know what it is you want your toaster oven to do, to determine which one is right for you.
- Do I need the same special wiring for a toaster oven as for my standard range oven? No. A toaster oven operates at the standard house voltage of 120. A toaster oven can be plugged into any convenient household outlet.

Choose dishes that serve as a meal, ones that combine foods from different food groups. (d) Redefine a meal. Make a nutritious snack rather than a full meal. (e) Find cook books that are designed especially for one or two people.
